Please join the Chicago Clean Energy Alliance for our next quarterly event to be held on June 23rd. Our Presenting Sponsor, Mayer Brown, will be hosting a panel to address a hot topic that is on everyone’s mind: transmission development. The lack of available transmission in areas of high wind and solar resources affects developers nationwide. With changing FERC rulings on the privatization of transmission development, is transmission poised to become the next big boom? A reception and open networking will follow the conclusion of the panel.

Panel

The CCEA & Mayer Brown have assembled the following panel of energy experts:

  • Confirmed: Dan Foley, CEO, Acciona
  • Confirmed: Hans Detweiler, Director of Development, Clean Line Energy
  • Confirmed: John Flynn, VP, Strategic Planning & Business Development, American Transmission
  • Confirmed: Steven T. Naumann, Vice President of Wholesale Market Development for Exelon Corporation
  • Moderator: Paul J. Astolf, Partner, Mayer Brown

This panel will address:

  • Cost allocation issues between developers, utilities, and governments.
  • How to create a supportive policy environment to foster privatized transmission development.
  • What necessary policy steps does the renewable industry need to take to put more steel in the ground.
  • How utilities analyze transmission and interconnection issues when analyzing PPA bids.
